WELCOME...
The World Tourism Organisation defines tourism stating:
'It comprises the activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited'.
Tourism involves many different business operations including marketing the destination, providing overnight accommodation and managing the elements of the experience that make the destination what it is. The sector is diverse and complex involving the public and private sectors, multinational conglomerates and sole traders.
At Tourism UK Ltd we understand tourism. Our directors and associates have run national marketing agencies, tourism economic development departments, major visitor attractions, hotels, restaurants and pubs and we have been on holiday once or twice (though my wife says not often enough).
Tourism UK offers a range of tourism consulting approaches. Over the last decade we have provided tourism consultancy advice on everything from strategy development to business support and training. Our tourism consultants are all practitioners, people who have worked in the tourism sector at the sharp end whether it be in delivering marketing strategies or running hotels.
So whatever challenge faces your organisation, whatever tourism consultancy task you think you need help with, you can pretty much be sure if it's to do with tourism we have a perspective on it which might be a little different.
